What We Sow...

Have you read the headlines lately? The election, the pandemic, healthcare, employment stats, finances, it's enough to make you protest, vote, comment, or simply hide 'til it's all over!
I found myself reading articles reflecting on the status of Texas ( the highest Covid19 cases), and the recent voter suppression with the single ballot box in Harris County as determined by Texas governor Greg Abbott, to the intimidation directed at Biden supporters recently when the Biden tour bus passed through San Antonio heading to Austin, but unfortunately derailed by Trump supporters. I could only shake my head and pray for better thoughts. How can one not get caught up in the volatile headlines? If there was ever a time to evaluate your core values, today is that day.
The language and comments I've read no matter what the subject have our country completely divided. When did we get here and how do we get through? I know that we all have different opinions about our daily headlines but remember in the midst of your thoughts, opinions, and actions we all shall reap what we sow. Think 20 years from now, what would you want your children and grandchildren to know about your current thoughts and actions? How do you want those who depend on you today, to live tomorrow? Do you want man to determine when to give birth, where you should live, how you should, or even have the right to vote?
Remember what you seek to impose on others will be the epithet of your life. Are you the "tyrant" who believes only one method or way should conform to, the lives of others, or the "passive" who sits and waits for the turmoil to pass or the "believer" who knows through God who offers peace, calm and discernment your opinions and actions are exactly what you hope to sow. Give Him some time today, He's so worthy...Many blessings.
Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies and one who sows discord among brothers.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
